I live near the beach, how long will my garage door last?

Our German designed and manufactured Hormann Garage doors have high quality galvanised steel fixtures and fittings. They are designed to withstand the harshest elements. In fact, Hormann discovered that after 14 years, the moisture in the concrete leeches up into the steel frames and begins to corrode the steel. To eliminate this from happening, they have designed “booties” to cover the base of the framing so they last for a very long time.

The Hormann doors will also withstand winds up to Wind Rating 3, but can be altered up to Wind rating 5, which equates to 200 kilometre/hour winds.

The double insulation also means the doors are a lot stronger than ‘single skin’ garage doors, meaning no bending or warping panels. The insulation also ensures no more cold cars in winter or hot cars in summer! We insulate our houses and garage walls and ceilings, so it makes sense to install insulated doors also. This saves money on heating and cooling too. The insulated doors consist of 0.6-1.2mm metal outer with 42mm (4.2cm) of polyutherane insulation.
